Maryland is ranked the richest state
In an estimate released by the U.S. Census Bureau, Maryland ranked as the richest state in the US and Howard County ranked as the richest county in Maryland.
The ranking based on median household income, estimated Maryland's household income to be $65,144 annually. The estimated median household income for Howard County came in at $94,260. This makes Howard County the third richest county in the US; only Fairfax and Loudoun county Virgina are wealthier.
